Final no-dig bed

Tom hard at it with bags of Clay buster

We have made up the last no-dig bed for this year. For the mulch we are using Lakeland Gold, from Dalefoot Composts in Cumbria. They produce a compost using lamb’s wool but this is a vegan version without the wool. They call it the “clay buster” so we will put it to the test on our heavy clay soil.

Lakeland Gold is a soil improver rather than a planting medium, and we mixed in about 50% of our own compost. Once matured the mix seems just great.
