Our first harvest

All the effort is beginning to pay off with lots of gorgeous coloured blooms coming through. Ranunculus in the polytunnel and the Autumn planted hardy annuals are beginning to perform. Also the bulbs are bursting out in the raised beds.

Some disappointments - the Larkspur were planted in the wrong spot - overshadowed by the Ammi close by. The Angels Choir poppies are stunningly beautiful flowers bursting out every morning for us, but the petals are so delicate they last only a day or two at most and we can’t use them in arrangements.

The calendula have sulked a little in the coolest part of the bed - in shade in the morning until the sun gets up higher in in mid May.

So we can start making up bunches and get them on sale!
